Description:

“Black Stockings” is a Brechtian styled morality play about sex and war. Set in a brothel in East Manchester, England, two sex workers use their trade as a measuring stick for the immorality of war. Donna and Trish have the audience laughing as they tell stories about their lives, until Trish reveals the true nature of her relationship with her Granddad, who was a decorated WWII bomber pilot. The victims of war are not always immediate, or easily identifiable. John Moore gave this production a 3 star review when produced last year. “You should skip "Black Stockings" if you can't handle profanity or anatomically correct blow-up dolls. You should go if you want to see an age-old story that suggests war crimes are not always committed on foreign soil.” How do you define morality?
