#MeToo. Kavanaugh. "Grab 'em by the pussy." Rape Culture. Unless you have been under a rock and not paying attention, the discussion has started and you are part of the discussion. If you are a human with a heart you are probably appalled at the universal truths women are demanding be known. Unless, of course, you are Trump supporter or a white male Republican and think this is a stupid discussion aimed at taking away all they hold dear when it comes to women and their God given right to treat them as property.
Well, Winnie Wenglewick, owner of Dangerous Theatre has another story to tell. It is not about being a victim of sexual assault, even though she has been. Numerous times. Instead, she has decided to use her privilege, as a theatre owner, to admit that for many years she was part of the problem.
Winnie discovered porn when she was 10. First sexual assault when 12. Met boys over the CB Radio (No internet then!) for sexual activities at 13. Convinced boyfriend to have sex at 15. Had an adult sexual mentor at 16. Then she went to college.
In college she helped boys like Kavanaugh think that what they did was ok. Acceptable. That they would be able to get away with it. It was not until many years later that she realized she didn't have to be part of the problem to get what she wanted. Now she tries to be part of the solution. She also has some unconventional thoughts about Rape Culture and fears she has about where the discussion is going and what it could lead to.
